Bella's Corner opened in October 2025, named after Lara's childhood dog Bella, who passed away just a few months before we opened. Bella had this incredible ability to make you feel like the most important person in the world — whether you'd been gone five minutes or five hours, she was just so happy to see you walk through the door. That's exactly the feeling we wanted to bottle.
The Good Batch Co. was born from that same idea. Every cookie we make is a little piece of that warmth — something handmade with love, baked fresh, and meant to feel like a gift. Whether you're treating yourself, surprising someone you love, or honestly just because — that's reason enough for us.
How The Good Batch Co. came to life
Our customers made us do it.
Lara had been baking cookies long before Bella's Corner even existed. When the cafe opened, they sold out faster than anything else on the menu. Week after week, customers kept saying the same thing — you need to sell these online. So we listened. The Good Batch Co. is our answer to that: a way to share what we make in our little kitchen in Mona Vale with people beyond our four walls. Everything is made in small batches, by hand, with no preservatives and nothing artificial. Just really good ingredients, made the way your mum used to make things — like it just came out of the oven, because it basically did.

We don't mass produce. Every cookie is made in small batches by Lara — which means every single one gets the attention it deserves.

Lara
Co-founder — the baker
Lara has been baking for as long as she can remember — it's not something she does, it's who she is. Long before Bella's Corner, long before The Good Batch Co., there was Lara in a kitchen somewhere, creating something from scratch just because she loved it. Baking is how she shows love, how she unwinds, and honestly how she has the most fun. She brings Claire's ideas to life, talks Claire through every step of the process whether she asked or not, and holds a strict policy of making Claire taste test everything first. What drives Lara most is simple: watching people take a bite of something she made and genuinely loving it. That moment never gets old.

Claire is the heart behind everything we do. She's the one with the ideas — always dreaming up new flavours, new ways to make people feel special. Lara takes those ideas and makes them real. It's a partnership that just works. Claire keeps the vision grounded, keeps Lara grounded, and does everything with her whole heart — for everyone else before herself. She has this rare ability to make every single person she meets feel genuinely seen and heard. That energy is in every cookie we make.
